On July 23–24, 2026, FXMedia Internet Pte Ltd hosted the FXMedia Developer Conference at Hotel Santika Kelapa Gading in East Jakarta. Held in strategic partnership with BINUS University International, the two-day event under the theme “AI and Automation” brought together diverse teams across technology, design, business, and operations to explore the practical, real-world applications of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Rather than positioning AI solely as a backend tool for software developers, the conference aimed to shift the narrative. Sessions critically examined how AI, alongside extended reality (XR), spatial computing, and interactive technology, can actively support personnel across an entire organization—from content creation and development to business operations, corporate learning, and holistic innovation.
“AI is changing how we build, create and solve problems, but technology is only valuable when people know how to apply it,” said Mark Wong, Founder and Director of FXMedia Internet Pte Ltd. “Our Developer Conference encourages teams to experiment, challenge conventional thinking and collaborate, using AI not simply for automation, but to augment creativity, accelerate innovation and create better experiences.”
Adding a vital academic and technical perspective to the discourse, Jude J.L. Martinez from the Computer Science department of BINUS University International delivered a standout presentation titled, “AI-Augmented Developer: Boosting Productivity Without Losing Code Quality.” Martinez examined how developers can effectively leverage AI to increase output while rigorously maintaining technical quality, discipline, and accountability. He highlighted that productivity gains are only truly meaningful when organizations simultaneously consider how human judgment and high technical standards are maintained.
The event also underscored the critical importance of collaboration between the tech industry and academic institutions in preparing the next generation of talent. A major highlight was the highly inclusive nature of the conference’s AI competitions. By extending participation beyond traditional developers to include operational teams, the event gave a broader range of employees the opportunity to experiment with AI and actively contribute to innovation.
Nurul Qomariyah, also from BINUS University International’s Computer Science department, praised the event’s dynamic atmosphere. “The conference was an inspiring showcase of creativity and innovation, highlighting the interactive AI projects presented by participants, particularly the creativity, ambition, and technical capabilities demonstrated by younger and Gen Z participants,” she noted.
Reflecting on the overarching impact of the two-day gathering, Martinez added, “The conference was a powerful showcase of where immersive technology and practical digital transformation are heading.” He emphasized that cultivating strong industry-academic ecosystems is essential for equipping the next generation of technology builders to drive real-world transformation.
