AI Startups & Future Innovation Take Center Stage at ASEAN AI Business Summit
The ASEAN AI Business Summit 2025 is set to bring together some of the brightest minds in technology and entrepreneurship on 12 September 2025 at One World Hotel, Malaysia. One of the key highlights of the event is the Start-up Conference: AI Trend & VC Insights, where Innovation Meets Investment, a session designed to explore how artificial intelligence can drive innovation, foster investment, and create a sustainable future for ASEAN’s digital economy.
The session kicks off with a keynote by Dr. Afnizanfaizal Abdullah, General Manager of Tech Commercialization at MRANTI (Malaysia), who will speak on “Nurturing AI Startups for ASEAN Competitiveness.” His address will explore strategies to accelerate AI adoption and empower startups to scale across borders.
Following the keynote, the event will feature Panel Discussion 2: AI Startups & What’s Next – Innovation, Investment, and Ethics for the Future. The discussion will bring together leading experts to explore pressing questions around AI startup growth, ethical implementation, and cross-border collaboration.
Among the distinguished panelists is Dr. Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, Assistant Professor at BINUS University International. Dr. Nurul, a lecturer from the Computer Science program, will share her perspective on how academic research and industry collaboration can support ethical AI development while encouraging diversity and inclusion in tech entrepreneurship.
She joined by Associate Professor Dr. Aini Suzana Ariffin, Fellow Expert at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (CAIRO), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, who will provide insights into the future of AI research and innovation. The panel will be moderated by Mr. Muhammad Fikri Ashraf, Partnership Lead at MRANTI.
The conference aims to spark meaningful dialogue between innovators, investors, and policymakers to build a more robust AI ecosystem in ASEAN.
