SheCodes Binus Wins British Council’s Social Action Impact Grant to Empower Women in STEM

Jakarta, March 20, 2025 – SheCodes Binus has been awarded the Social Action Impact Grant from the British Council, marking a significant milestone in its mission to empower young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
This prestigious grant will fuel SheCodes’ efforts in fostering digital leadership among women through the SheCodes Society Digital Leadership Academy. The program aims to equip young women with essential AI, data visualization, and leadership skills to prepare them for the future of technology.
A special appreciation goes to Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, a key figure in founding SheCodes, for her dedication and contribution to the initiative.
With the support of this grant, SheCodes is launching the SheCodes Society Digital Leadership Academy, an initiative designed to equip young women with critical skills in AI, data visualization, and leadership. The program will feature 12 intensive workshops held in Jakarta and Yogyakarta, providing participants with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for future careers in STEM.
SheCodes is working alongside Binus University, IEEE Women in Engineering, Robogals, Google Developer Group, and Nusa Mandiri University to ensure the program’s success. This strong network of academic and industry partners will provide mentorship, resources, and expert-led sessions, further amplifying the impact of the initiative.
For years, SheCodes has been committed to increasing female representation in STEM by providing accessible learning opportunities and a supportive community. This grant from the British Council serves as a testament to SheCodes’ dedication to driving meaningful change in the industry.
