Final Pitching SheCodes Society Batch 1 and MoU Signing with Rumah Atsiri Indonesia: Celebrating Women’s Innovation in STEM
Jakarta, December 13, 2024 – SheCodes Society proudly held the Final Pitching Day for Batch 1, marking the culmination of a 13-week program aimed at empowering women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). This event also marked a significant milestone with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between BINUS University International and Rumah Atsiri Indonesia, signifying a strategic collaboration in technological innovation and sustainability.
Held at the Binus FX Sudirman Auditorium, the event was attended by industry leaders, academics, and professionals from partners such as Radiologinet Indonesia, Nutrifood, and Microsoft.
SheCodes Society: A Platform for Women’s Innovation
SheCodes Society is a new initiative by BINUS University International that supports women in taking active roles in STEM. Over the course of the 13-week program, participants gained skills in data visualization, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, leadership, and public speaking. During the final pitching event, participants presented projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“This final pitching is not just an ending but also a beginning for young women to make meaningful contributions in the tech world. We are proud to see the enthusiasm and innovation they bring,” said Dr. Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, Chairperson of SheCodes Society.
Strategic Collaboration with Rumah Atsiri Indonesia
The MoU signing with Rumah Atsiri Indonesia marks a major step in integrating technology with the essential oil industry, which holds immense potential for sustainability. This collaboration includes:
- Research and Technological Development for efficiency in essential oil production processes.
- Empowering Local Communities through technology-based training.
- Product Innovation using data-driven approaches to enhance global competitiveness.
“We view this collaboration as a significant opportunity to create synergy between local traditions and modern technology. Together with SheCodes Society, we aim to support sustainable innovation involving women and local communities,” said Dewanti Subijantoro, a representative of Rumah Atsiri Indonesia.
Judges and Winners of the Final Pitching
The final pitching was evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, including:
- dr. Sophia Hage, Sp.K.O., Medical Director of Royal Sports Performance Center
- Krishna Worotikan, CFO of Microsoft Indonesia
- Melisa Hendrawati, CFO of Super Bank Indonesia
- Mellisa Anggiarti, First Officer at Garuda Indonesia
Winners were announced at the end of the event following intensive presentations and discussions by the three finalist groups.
Event Highlights
The event featured presentation sessions, discussions, and a closing ceremony that included the announcement of winners and the opening of recruitment for Batch 2 of SheCodes Society. The ceremony concluded with the awarding of graduation certificates to Batch 1 participants.
