Jason Jeremy Wijadi: Top Graduate from Binus with a 4.00 GPA, Innovates Technology for the Visually Impaired

Achieving a perfect GPA of 4.00, Jason Jeremy Wijadi was named the Best Graduate at the 70th Graduation Ceremony of Bina Nusantara (Binus) University, held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday, November 25, 2026. A Computer Science graduate from the School of Computing and Creative Arts at Binus International, Jason excelled not only academically but also in international competitions.

In 2023, Jason and his team represented Indonesia as the sole finalist and secured a place among the Top 3 Winners in the Google Solution Challenge 2023. This global competition, organized by tech giant Google, tasked participants with developing applications aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

For the challenge, Jason’s team developed a refreshable braille display, a groundbreaking technology aimed at supporting individuals with visual impairments. “We created this application and device to help visually impaired individuals learn and use braille for communication, whether in classroom scenarios between teachers and students or in daily life,” Jason explained.

A Local Innovation with Global Impact

Jason highlighted the high cost of refreshable braille displays available internationally, compounded by import and tax expenses for shipping them to Indonesia. “We decided to create a local innovation—the first locally made refreshable braille display in Indonesia, which is also affordable,” he said.

Amazingly, Jason began developing this innovative tool during his sixth semester, balancing the project alongside his internship commitments. “Yes, it was during the sixth semester, so I was working on it while interning,” he added.

Academic Excellence and Career Success

Despite his demanding schedule, Jason managed to complete his studies on time and graduate with distinction as the Best Graduate with a perfect GPA. His achievements don’t end there—Jason has secured a role as a Consulting Analyst at Deloitte, one of the world’s leading accounting firms, widely recognized as part of the prestigious Big Four.

When asked about his success tips for students, Jason emphasized the importance of proactive action: “Just do it. Start immediately. If we keep delaying, we’ll never know when we’ll begin or finish. But by starting right away and putting it into practice, we eventually get hooked and motivated to complete it,” he shared.

Inspiring the Next Generation

Jason’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance, innovation, and a proactive mindset. His achievements, from academic excellence to impactful technological innovations, serve as an inspiration for students and aspiring tech enthusiasts worldwide.
