Delegates from The Alan Turing Institute and Universities of Plymouth & Southampton Visit Binus @FX for Collaboration Talks
In a significant academic exchange, delegates from prestigious UK institutions – The Alan Turing Institute, Plymouth University, and the University of Southampton – visited Binus @FX on April 22, 2024. The visit aims to strengthen ties and explore potential research collaborations with Bina Nusantara University.
Among the distinguished researchers is Prof. Adam Sobey, the Director of Data Centric Engineering at The Alan Turing Institute and a Professor of Data-Centric Engineering within the Maritime Engineering group at the University of Southampton.
Joining him is Dr. Kimberly Tam, an expert in Maritime and Data-Centric Engineering at The Alan Turing Institute and an Associate Professor at the University of Plymouth. Dr. Tam also holds the position of Chief Scientist at Riskocity Ltd, a start-up specializing in risk assessments for maritime assets.
The agenda for this visit includes a follow-up meeting from discussions with faculty members from the Computer Science Program of BINUS University International in October 2023 and an exploration of potential areas for research collaboration. The delegation engaged with representatives from BINUS International’s undergraduate program, BINUS Regular Undergraduate program, and BINUS Graduate program (master’s and doctoral programs).
This collaborative endeavor holds promise for fostering international academic partnerships and advancing research frontiers in areas such as data-centric engineering and artificial intelligence.
