Tim (as Timotius is always referred to as) has been consistently showing excellent academic performance not just in campus but also outside campus.

In 2022, he became one of the awardees of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) which was granted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

IISMA is one of the Merdeka Belajar programs which promote emancipated learning for students of tertiary education to study beyond their classroom.

As the IISMA awardee, Tim had a chance to spend a semester of study abroad at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

In his final year, Tim chose to write his thesis in a scholarly publication mode which enabled him to present his work with the title INTERCULTURAL USER INTERFACE DESIGN (IUID) IN LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS at the 2023 International Conference on Biospheric Harmony Advanced Research (ICOBAR).

Interviewed after his graduation, Tim expressed some words,

I’m very proud of the fact that I have graduated with Summa Cum Laude from Binus. I worked very hard to get this GPA, so I’m happy that I achieved this result from my efforts.

He also shared his key to success for his juniors.

I personally believe that if you take every opportunity to learn from your mistakes, you’ll be able to do much better. And to also ask more experienced people for help when you need it.

Tim closed his interview by sharing his best moment during his 4 years of study.

There’s a lot of best moments, but if I had to choose, it would be when I finished the final revision of my thesis with the help of my lecturer, Miss Lily. I felt very relieved after finishing that draft and slept like a rock that night.

Binus University celebrated its 68th graduation in a dazzling ceremony held in the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Central Jakarta from 18 to 20 November 2023.

In this first graduation of the year 2023, Binus awarded 6,334 students with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees from all its seven campuses, including Binus @Senayan which serves the international undergraduate programs.

Among all those graduates, 88.81% graduate on time, and 77% percent have secured a job in industry.
