Welcome back to campus: It’s all onsite and exciting again!

The new academic year 2022-2023 has just begun with all brand-new onsite learning. Yes, the campus welcomes new and returning students to study in classrooms again after the two-year Covid-19 pandemic.

To rejoice in the return of students to the campus, Binus University International organized Welcome Back to Campus week from 20 to 23 September 2022. The four-day event ran various activities as shown in the rundowns below.

On the first day, Communications students were having fun styling their Kebaya/Batik outfits as they participate in Selasa Berkebaya, one of the activities in the Welcome Back to Campus week in celebration of local culture. They were flooded with joy as they met their friends and laughed together, capturing their best Kebaya styles in selfies and group pictures.

The lecturers could not help but join in the celebration as well. Ms. Dian, Ms. Karin, and Ms. Lily looked chic in their classic Kebaya. Ms. Anna who was an Indian national just joining the program in this new semester donned her Indian traditional outfit to immerse in the event.

The second day was as lively as the first day with Comm Got Talent contest. Despite having lecture schedules on that day, students made their time and way to the contest in the auditorium. They showed their best talents, especially singing dan dancing. The contest turned out to be a karaoke jam as everyone just sang along and danced to some popular songs. Even the lecturers made their way on the stage and showed their [golden] voice by singing Westlife’s Uptown Girls.

Another exciting session was waiting for the students on the third day as Noice.id—a podcast service application—shared some knowledge and tips on being a podcaster in a designated session “Podcast 101”. The local start-up that facilitates Indonesians to create and grow their talent in vocal and voice on a digital platform offered the students to collaborate with them in creating a campus podcaster community.

On the last day, students spent their time playing some interactive games such as scored dances, board games, mini golf, and many more.
