Editors Talk #1: The Influence of Korean Wave on Lifestyle trend

Communications Program, Binus University International introduced a new academic seminar series called “EDITORS TALK”.

The brand new event serves as a collaborative platform between the program and professionals in media industry, giving students an opportunity to learn from the experts.

The first edition of the event hosts Mr. Bajga Hidayat, the Executive Editor of Tempo Magazine to talk about “Freedom of speech: blessing or curse?”. Another speaker, Ms. Santi Zulbachri, the Managing Editor of Elle Indonesia, shares a topic on “The Influence of Korean Wave on Lifestyle trend.”

“Korea emerges as a new soft power, using culture to invade people’s head instead of using hard power such as military or economic force.,” said Santi.

Santi added, “the way we dress are also affected by them. we started with minimalist, mixing and matching, visit beauty clinic. We want Korean look with v-shape face.”

The event runs on Zoom in an engaging session with a number of interesting questions from the participants with Dian Sarwono, the Deputy Head of Program in Communications, as the moderator.
