BINUS International & Cambridge International Present Global Education Opportunities

Thanks to the ever-growing globalization phenomenon, schools in many countries have looked to international standards for their curriculum development. The prevailing trend aims to ensure students have more opportunities to immerse themselves in diverse cultures and receive higher-quality education.

The growth of international schools in Indonesia impacts the need for international higher education that can be a bridge, as the right pathway from high school graduate to a university that has the same standards, qualifications, systems, methods, and global environment.

To fulfill this demand, BINUS International collaborates with Cambridge International to hold the “Adapting to Changing Global Higher Education Landscape” forum on 23rd August 2023 at the BINUS @Senayan Campus, 3rd floor.

Various Global Higher Education Pathways with Cambridge

Cambridge Assessment International Education – CAIE (or Cambridge International) is the world’s largest provider of international education programs and qualifications for 5 -19-year-olds. Cambridge international qualifications are recognized by the world’s best universities and employers, giving students a wide range of options in their education and careers.

BINUS International and Cambridge International have the same vision to introduce global higher education pathways to high school students, teachers, and parents, as seen from its forum events.

For its main session, attendees can learn how Cambridge education will help them enroll in global universities and what careers they can take from there. This session will update the global best practices to all school leaders and counselors for the Cambridge International School pathway to the University. This session aims to help students determine the best path to take based on their interests and skills so they can flourish after graduating from high school.

Furthermore, the event’s session will introduce students to how BINUS International can give them the exposure they need to experience international education. As BINUS International is a university partnering with Top Global Universities in Australia, the UK, Europe, the US, and South Korea, students will have the chance to obtain an international double degree upon graduation to complement their local Bachelor’s degree.

With these double degrees, they will succeed better in their home country and overseas, aligning with BINUS International’s global experience spirit to provide an international learning environment and educational system based on Cambridge’s approach.

Aiming at School Decision Makers

Aside from its main event aimed at prospective university students and their families, BINUS International also holds a particular forum for school principals. Compared to the main session introducing Cambridge International’s advantages and how BINUS International can help students benefit from them, the second event will teach how to implement design thinking in a classroom environment.

Cambridge International’s education curriculum emphasizes the design thinking practice to foster creative approaches to observing and solving real-life problems. Meanwhile, Indonesia’s current education system, the K13 Curriculum, has been effective since 2013, and the 2024 Merdeka Curriculum uses the same approach, albeit with some fundamental differences.

This project-based learning system will give students more opportunities to study whatever piques their curiosity and hone their soft skills in tandem with their technical skills. However, the Cambridge International curriculum also introduces students to how their English language skills apply to life as an international citizen.

Through this forum, BINUS International hopes that more schools adopt the Cambridge education standard to prepare students for studying and working overseas.

Introducing the Cambridge International Recognition

Not only school principals, BINUS International and Cambridge International also invite school counselors to learn how the Cambridge International Recognition will help students pave their future.

In the third session, counselors can learn the benefits of Cambridge Assessment International Education’s (CAIE) certification for students looking forward to enrolling in an international university after graduating. Additionally, representatives from the CAIE will teach them how they can aid students wishing to obtain recognition during the preparation and examination steps.

To quote from Drs. Andreas Chang, M.B.A., the Director of BINUS @Senayan, about the importance of this session, “To prepare students for the global era, we need a global curriculum. That’s why we invite counselors and principals, too, as they are closest to the students.”

More students look forward to studying and working overseas as they have more opportunities for global education, exposing them to more diverse cultures and better learning environments.

In line with this trend, BINUS International has organized the “Adapting to Changing Global Higher Education Landscape” forum in partnership with Cambridge International. Prospective university students, parents, school counselors, and principals can attend three sessions at the BINUS @Senayan Campus’s 3rd floor on 23rd August 2023.

BINUS International is a bridge from International High School graduates to International University level in Indonesia. BINUS International provides a solid pathway to Cambridge International High School graduates to pursue International Higher Education with a Double Degree in Indonesia. In this event, we introduce the new connection from Cambridge International High School to BINUS International.

From there, they’ll have the chance to learn about the benefits of Cambridge International Recognition and how decision-makers can adopt the global curriculum for their school.

With this event, the students from Cambridge International High School will have a clear pathway to continue their higher education in Indonesia without going abroad, to pursue the international double degree.
