Graphic Design 2023 Immersion

On 5-9 July 2023, the Graphic Design students went on an immersion trip to Singapore. Singapore, a melting pot of cultures and a thriving hub for design and creativity continued to captivate a group of graphic design students during their immersive journey. Building upon the excitement of the first day at Republic Polytechnic and Foreign Policy Design, the students delved further into the city’s design scene, exploring Splash Production, Tiny Island Production, and Universal Studios Singapore on their second and third days.

Day 2 commenced with a visit to Splash Production, a leading creative agency specializing in animation, visual effects, and post-production. Nestled within Singapore’s vibrant media industry, the students were eager to witness the magic behind the scenes of animated productions. As they entered the studio, they were welcomed by a lively atmosphere, brimming with creativity.

Next on the itinerary was a visit to Tiny Island Production, a renowned animation studio known for its expertise in creating animated films and series. The students were greeted by a team of passionate animators who shared their insights into the industry and the creative processes involved in producing high-quality animated content.

Day 3 of Graphic Design 2023 Immersion marked a thrilling highlight of the immersion program as the students embarked on a visit to Universal Studios Singapore. Known for its breathtaking attractions and immersive experiences, the renowned theme park provided a rich source of inspiration for budding graphic designers.

As they entered Universal Studios Singapore, the students were instantly transported into a world of fantasy and imagination. They marveled at the intricate set designs, vibrant colors, and attention to detail that adorned each themed area within the park. From the bustling streets of Hollywood to the enchanting worlds of fairy tales and blockbuster films, the students witnessed firsthand how graphic design played a pivotal role in creating memorable and visually stunning experiences.

Beyond the exhilarating rides and attractions, the students had the opportunity to explore the Universal Creative Studio, where they gained insights into the process of bringing beloved characters and stories to life. They learned about the importance of branding, marketing, and graphic design in creating cohesive experiences that resonate with audiences of all ages.

Armed with newfound experiences and a wealth of inspiration, the students returned home, ready to embark on their creative journeys, equipped with the tools and insights gained from their remarkable immersion in Singapore’s vibrant design landscape.
