BINUS INTERNATIONAL hosted the Woosong University Immersion Trip to Jakarta

As an international educational institution, BINUS INTERNATIONAL continuously provides a global experience to the students, as well as strengthening the partnerships with partner universities from abroad. On Friday, 26 July 2019, BINUS INTERNATIONAL hosted the Woosong University Immersion Trip to Jakarta.

Arriving from Incheon, South Korea, to Jakarta on Thursday, 25 July 2019, the immersion trip was attended by the students and lecturers from Woosong University, Woosong College, and SolBridge International School of Business. The trip aimed to provide the students with international experience as well as knowledge and deeper understanding of Indonesia. Furthermore, BINUS INTERNATIONAL students who were appointed as the companions could also learn more about Korea and expand their international networking.

The immersion trip was started in the morning at BINUS JWC. Here, the Woosong students enthusiastically learned the Indonesian language and got an opportunity to play an Indonesian traditional musical instrument in the Angklung Workshop held by BINUS INTERNATIONAL.

After lunch, the trip participants went to Rumah Batik Palbatu, Tebet. At Rumah Batik Palbatu, they learned about batik, including history and origins. They also get hands-on experience by making their own batik.

The trip continued with a short Jakarta city tour, where the participants could sightsee the remarkable places and landmarks in Jakarta. In the evening, the immersion trip was concluded with dinner at Senayan City.

EunBee Kim, a student from SolBridge, said that she really enjoyed the trip. Through this trip, she continued, she could not only experience the atmosphere at Jakarta and BINUS but also the Indonesian culture. “Through this immersion trip, I was got to experience Indonesian culture and have a better understanding of Indonesian culture in general,” she said.
