From 15 to 19 September, students from the Graphic Design and New Media (GDNM) program embarked on an immersion trip to Singapore, offering them valuable exposure to the region’s dynamic creative industry. The educational visit aimed to bridge classroom learning with real-world practice, allowing students to experience firsthand how design professionals collaborate, ideate, and execute projects across different creative disciplines.

Throughout the trip, students visited several renowned studios, including Finding Pictures, an award-winning animation studio known for its storytelling approach; Foreign Policy Design, a multidisciplinary firm specializing in branding and communication design; Studio Black, recognized for its impactful design campaigns and brand strategy; and Splash!, a creative agency focusing on design and branding innovation. At each stop, students had the opportunity to engage directly with creative directors and design teams, gaining insights into industry workflows, project development, and the evolving role of design in business and culture.

In addition to the studio visits, the group also spent a day at Republic Polytechnic Singapore, a long-standing academic partner of BINUS University. Here, they participated in a collaborative design workshop held in conjunction with Singapore Design Week 2025, where they exchanged ideas with local students and explored the latest trends shaping the future of design education.

This international immersion not only deepened the students’ professional understanding but also strengthened academic and industry ties between Indonesia and Singapore — highlighting BINUS University’s commitment to fostering global learning experiences that prepare its students for the international creative landscape.
