The Museum Sejarah Jakarta, or Jakarta History Museum, is situated in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Old Town, or Kota Tua. It is also referred to as the Fatahillah Museum or Batavia Museum. Originally intended to be Batavia’s municipal hall, the structure was constructed in 1710. The Jayakarta establishment in 1527, the prehistoric era of the city region, and the Dutch colonization era from the 16th century to Indonesia’s independence in 1945 are all represented in the exhibits of the Jakarta History Museum, which opened its doors in 1974.
