A children’s book illustrator named Evelyn Ghozali came to speak to our Illustration design class and share her knowledge. She outlined each specific process that goes into creating a successful children’s book. Character creation procedures, editorial spread examples to help client to see how the spread is laid out, style guidelines, child-friendly line quality standards, and shapes are all included in a colorful presentation. Since our students are required to create a unique page-turner story, she also goes over numerous crucial points to improve children’s storyline understanding using both text and images. To produce a balanced layout between the visual illustration and the copywriting, she believe it would be useful to incorporate fundamental graphic design concepts like negative space, overlap, and dynamism. We hope that our students will use the advice Evelyn offered to make the most of their children’s illustrated book in order to complete their illustration design final project. We had such an interesting session with her!
