Binus International paid a visit to Galeri Indonesia Kaya
A group of 2023’s Freshmen of Binus International visited the Galeri Indonesia Kaya, the interactive art gallery located at Grand Indonesia’s West Mall on 5 September 2023.
The group consisting of 70 new students from the Communications program along with the Graphic Design and News Media as well as the Fashion Design department was welcome by the hospitality manager of the Djarum Foundation, the sponsor who facilitates the art gallery.
Upon arrival, the students, accompanied by a couple of lecturers and their freshmen leaders, were briefed and ushered by some of the staff to the mini theater to watch a screening of a musical webseries “Payung Fantasi.”
The musical depicts a slice of the life of Indonesia’s greatest composer and singer Ismail Marzuki during the colonial era which was produced by Garin Nugroho in collaboration with BOOW Live under the sponsorship of Galeri Indonesia Kaya.
After watching the webseries, the students viewed and enjoyed the interactive visual art projected throughout the walls at the gallery.
The gallery offers digital visual experiences for visitors to interactively learn about Indonesia’s culture, including traditional costumes and musical instruments, famous culinary from some places across the nation, folklore, and Indonesia’s natural resources.
The students looked enjoying their time and they interacted among themselves to go along with the exhibition at the gallery.
At the end of the visit, each student received a goody bag from the gallery management.
The visit was a part of Binus Higher Education’s First Year Program.
