Communications Binus International invited to the official opening of the DW’s new office in Jakarta

The Communications program of Binus University International attended the official ceremony of Deutsche Welle’s (DW) new office opening in Jakarta last Friday, 18 November 2022.

Represented by Dian Sarwono, the Head of Program, and Lily El Ferawati, the Subject Content Coordinator, along with the Deputy of Campus Director Irma Ibrahim, the Communication Program becomes among a few educational institutions that received the invitation from the popular state-owned media originating from Germany.

Taking place in Beer Hall, at the Sudirman Centre Business District (SCBD), the event was opened with the launch of DW’s new documentary, HER – Women in Asia.

DW Director General, Peter Limbourg and DW Director of Programs for Asia, Debarati Guha, who delivered a Talk Show in the #DWGoesToCampus event at Binus FX Campus auditorium on the previous day were also present, officiating the ceremony.

The opening of the bureau in Jakarta is a milestone in DW’s strategy of getting closer to its users in Asia, the official press release stated.

With the bureau in Jakarta, DW is basing a team of correspondents in the region who will contribute to the Indonesian language service as well as the network’s global journalistic output.

Congratulations, DW, for the new office and we in the program look forward to collaborating with DW in any educational and professional opportunities in the future.
