As vaccinations are rolling up until today, offices and businesses are starting to get back to normal like the old days. The past year has been limiting our lifestyles, parties, and physical meetings that brought us to comfort knit over the lockdown.

The urge of going back to the old normal days has sparked. Shopping malls are back, bazaars are back, and the fact that retail shops keeps giving out special offers and discounts, it entices us the consumers to go shopping online and offline. When 2020 was ended with staying home and it’s all about comfort and leisure on the couch, but in this first half of 2021 people are ready to get out of a full year of staying at home.

Arguably, it is also time to say a goodbye to the comfort fashion; those stay-at-home activities with all day jogger pants and t-shirts or pyjamas. It was once a culture shock when suddenly all outdoor activities were banned and not a single one was allowed except for groceries and medical needs. People will also eventually experience the low spirits once again if they have to part with stay-at-home comfort in one night.

Fashion retailers have actually been starting to induce back the going-out vibes since end of year festive and in the last couple of months. Weddings and events are back even though the number of attendees have to be extremely downsized. And so dresses and formal pieces are now also back on the rack. But the ultimate question would be: would consumers ready for the new normal of fashion?

It is predicted though that all those formalities we used to have pre Covid19 will not be the same in the future post Covid19. Eventually the formal fashion we acclaimed back then will be slightly adjusted with the new normal habit. Just like the wearing-mask rule during the flu pandemic in 1918, masks became a part of the daily fashion items, that is basically what we are experiencing now in the modern days. We have seen this on the use of beaded fashion face mask as a substitute or an additional layer over the surgical mask as a fraction of the total wedding rituals’ look.

Furthermore, there has been a rise on the colour ranges of disposable masks on any of the types. Usually we only find the surgical mask and respirator in white and some added pop colours at the back side for the surgical mask. But these days, we could get those in any colours, such as; navy, yellow, pink, and etc.

It is not like a a hundred percent people would want to say goodbye to the whole comfort fashion but arguably minimalism and transitional attires will be the number one choice. People will opt for easy and breathable fits over tight fits for their day to day wear for transitioning between home wear to office wear. Also, colourful simplicity takes the centre stage and stylish mask gets trendy in the hope to spread positive vibes despite the country’s ongoing process of getting better.
