After the series of In Vogue: The 1990s, on September 7th Vogue’s podcast came back with In Vogue: The 2000s.

2000s has been known as the decade that fashion grew into the global entertainment engine and basically went digital where celebrities became style icons. Despite fashion trends come and go, the styling power of the ‘00s is still on. We are seeing these days with the comeback of Y2K style seen everywhere; from runways, on the street, and on TV. Back then we had Gossip Girl reflecting the style while today we have Netflix’s He’s All That.

Anna Wintour presented this new season that features Vogue’s editorial team, numbers of designers, models, and celebrities — from Grace Coddington who transformed the designers of into the characters of Alice in Wonderland, Nicholas Ghesquière of Balenciaga to discussing Carrie Bradshaw’s influence on the 2000s fashion with Sarah Jessica Parker — who made the 2000s resonates and defined the decade. Airing every week on Tuesday, the podcast kicked off with model Gisele Bündchen in 30mins+ talk, as she revolutionised modelling and ushered the beauty ideal that contributed to a more inclusive standard that we are seeing today.

In the podcast’s second episode, it explores the Met gala as the event happened in mid September ‘The 2000s Is an Oral History of the Met Gala’. It tells how the event went from a local fundraiser attended by members of the fashion industry and New York society to a star-filled global celebration becoming the Super Bowl of fashion under the hand of Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
