Let’s meet our alumna of Fashion Design 2020, Katarina Laurensia.

Katarina is currently pursuing a master degree in business to broaden her experiences in fashion retailing. At the same, she has a heart in teaching that brings her to become an active Lecture Assistant here in BNSD. 

Reflecting on her time in the double degree program, studying Fashion Design with BNSD has prepared Katarina to have a designer yet an entrepreneurial mindset; from learning the production process until how to sell the products. “It has been a great help for me on pursuing my career in fashion. It also opens the door to many opportunities, such as fashion show or fashion competition that help me to build my own fashion portfolio.”, she added.

She recalls to her highlight moment during her study that is presenting her collection in Jakarta Fashion Week 2019. Katarina said, “I got to really experience the designing process from zero, such as researching, designing, production until creating the final looks itself.” 

“It is very special and memorable for me as students as I got to share my creation to the world and felt very appreciated too.”

It does not stop there. With all the knowledge she gained as a student and working in fashion retail industry, she is pursuing to have her own brand in the future.
