For our first Alumni Talk, we have Henna Meirania Prabowo who graduated from Fashion Management back in 2018.

Although she graduated from a Fashion course, but her studies with BNSD also provided her with graphic and management skills along with the creative fashion that further brought her taking a master degree in Digital Marketing after graduated. Henna managed to land on her dream job as a Visual Designer in a design and marketing agency that caters to luxury hospitality based in Greece.

Despite having lots of challenging and tough project briefs not forgetting the stresses it came with, Henna enjoyed the the time combining creative direction as well as business decisions in delivering a collection. These experiences prepared her for the real work in the industry in a sense that she needs to deliver professional work while following client briefs in her current job. “The feedback given from lecturers was also very helpful in building my design knowledge – it also helps me deal with criticism from several clients about my work, and not taking it personally since it’s a constructive feedback”, Henna added.

She mentioned having the internship module was one of the highlight studying Fashion Management where she worked for a fashion magazine. ”It was a surreal experience knowing how professional work is very different in comparison to university classes. I got to make connection, and got behind the scene of fashion runways and editorial shoots – it was an amazing learning experience!”

As of now she has been enjoying her work that Henna hopes to handle clients from other places in Europe in the future and even broader industry beyond hospitality.
