Learning Method & Facilities

Pre-Incubation Support

CIDER provides pre-incubation activities for students interested in advancing their entrepreneurial endeavours by delivering three key components i.e., bootcamp, mentoring and coaching session, and networking with relevant partners. With design thinking method at heart, the bootcamp is specifically designed to assist students with ideation, product-market fit, value proposition, and business model. Mentors and coaches will also help students navigate their entrepreneurial journey and product prototyping. By combining the bootcamp and mentoring, students are expected to make the most of their entrepreneurial journey during their time at CIDER. Complementing the two activities, business networking is also conducted as an opportunity for students who are eager to continue their entrepreneurial journey further.

Project Hatchery

The Project Hatchery introduces concepts and practice of working on real world projects, combining real life assignments, peer counselling and working with various stakeholders. A multidisciplinary group of students is divided into groups and work together to complete a well-defined problem assigned by the lecturer/mentor.

The study module comprises independent work and weekly instructional sessions, and each team are at liberty to adopt their preferred working approaches that stimulates students’ exploratory learning and innovative competencies, while also honing presentation and interpersonal skills. Through this method, students also gain important project-related skills and experiences to working with peers from different fields of study.

Enterpreneurship Hatchery

Enterpreneurship Hatchery

Upon the completion of Project Hatchery course, students should be able to actively participate in various development programs that support innovation. The Entrepreneurship Hatchery course is built upon the concepts taught in Project Hatchery where students get opportunities to explore potential business ventures while at the same time trying to develop validated products. Students are also encouraged to think creatively, form a prototype-driven mindset and observe and actively participate in the overall processes. It is then fundamental for students to work with their peers from different programs to enhance their perspective and teamwork skills required to become innovator and entrepreneur.
