Jakarta, October 20, 2025 – BINUS Business School successfully held the 7th International Lecture Week (ILW), an annual academic event that brought together scholars and researchers from diverse disciplines to share insights with students, academics, and industry partners.
The event took place from October 20 to 24, 2025. It was hosted across BINUS Business School campuses in Jakarta (JWC, Alam Sutera, Bekasi, Kemanggisan), Bandung, Semarang, Malang, and Medan.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, BINUS Business School has organized the International Lecture Week in a hybrid format. This initiative demonstrates the institution’s strong focus on innovation, global mindset, and continuous improvement in both learning quality and community engagement.
Focus on Generative AI and the Future Workforce
This year’s International Lecture Week centred on the theme “Future-Ready Business: Reimagining Work, Wisdom, and the Wired World.” BINUS Business School chose the theme to respond to the growing influence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) across industries, including education.
“With the rise of generative AI, students need more than just the ability to use AI technology. As they prepare to enter the workforce, they must also understand which skills are in demand and how to adapt to industry needs. That is why this year we collaborated closely with industry partners to learn together,” said Ayuphita Tiara Silalahi, Project Leader of the International Lecture Week.
The event featured leading professors and academics from around the world. They shared their expertise with BINUS Business School students at both undergraduate and doctoral levels.
Discussions covered a broad spectrum of disciplines, including strategy and competitive advantage, marketing strategy and analysis, human resource management, operations management and decision-making, digital business, entrepreneurship, ethics and corporate governance, finance, and cross-cultural management.
To promote a more holistic understanding, the event also welcomed industry professionals. They shared real-world experiences related to AI implementation and workforce readiness. Among them was Dina Fani Permana, HR Director at Paragon Corp.
“At Paragon, more than 80% of our employees are Gen Z, a generation deeply connected to digitalisation. I was delighted to share the opportunities we offer young professionals and how we support their growth, as many are now in middle-level leadership positions. We want graduates to feel engaged, motivated, and continuously updated in their careers,” she said.

Several distinguished speakers from international universities also participated, including Associate Prof. Dr. Rohail Hassan (The Northern University of Malaysia), Katrin Kalmurand (Universidad del Pacífico, Peru), Dr. Elvira Bolat (Bournemouth University, UK), Dr. Bernard Gan (Griffith University, Australia), Dr. Umair Ul Hassan (University of Galway, Ireland), and Dr. Jin Sasaki (Tokyo University, Japan), among others.
Reflecting on the event, Prof. Dr. Rohail Hassan remarked, “This is my second time at BINUS and participating as a guest speaker for International Lecture Week. I always enjoy attending this platform, where I can share my knowledge with students. I think BINUS Business School has arranged this ILW in a way that is truly impactful in terms of teaching and learning, and I believe it continues to be highly beneficial for the students.”
