Get Inspired by Communications Students’ Projects at BINUS INTERNATIONAL

Studying communication at the BINUS International campus gives the students not only academic knowledge and skill but also creativity and professional competency. Students are expected to be ready for real-life professional demands, both in local and international fields. One way to showcase this is by arranging for students to create specific works for the Students’ Projects section of the Communications website.

If you wonder what kind of creativity to expect from students at this campus, here are several students’ projects from BINUS International’s Communications.

Communications Students

COMM Space 2020

COMM Space 2020 was a special event for Communications students at BINUS International. This was the first time such a big event was held online due to the pandemic. The two-part event consisted of various fun activities, including the 5-Minute Social Campaign Speech Competition and Student Forum: Youth for Peace Journalism.

During this event, Communications students from BINUS International showcased their interests, tips, and opinions about the development of Communications fields and their rising needs. Participants learned about networking, soft skills, critical thinking, and public speaking; all are important in the field of public communications.

The event proved that BINUSIANS are perfectly equipped for communications after graduation, proven by the online speech competition where they competed with students from other universities. The discussion also showed the rising concern toward better journalism practices, something that students must learn about.

Contemporary Writings

Writing is an important part of studying communications. BINUS International students must submit contemporary writings as parts of the learning. These writings showcase several important abilities, such as idea formulation, creative writing, self-expression, structured descriptions, and many more.

Students have submitted various writings to the Student Projects page. They have a wide range of topics, such as the story of the best life moment, the K-Pop trend, and even the beautiful contemporary descriptions of rain. They show the student’s ability to deliver ideas in creative ways, even if the inspiration seems simple.

Musical Projects

“Are musical projects parts of studying communications?” The answer is yes! BINUS International students are encouraged to showcase their creativity and ideas in various media, including music. Some students even created physical copies of their musical projects, which might be stepping stones for future projects or professions.

One such project is titled To Each His Own, a mixtape created by Ariel Nayaka (A. Nayaka) for a fourth-year project. Nayaka made his work available for free on SoundCloud, a remix project that took six months to finish. He also created physical copies as part of his gigs.

Another musical project was created by Febry Selawa for her first-year project. Singing and recording a song titled All My Love, Febry worked together with the Voices of BINUS Club, uploading the resulting song into SoundCloud.

Finally, there was Pradhana Putra, who created and sang a cover version of Justin Bieber’s Sorry. The cover song was recorded and uploaded to SoundCloud, proving that creating a musical cover is something that students of all levels can do at this campus.

Experience Vlog

Experience Vlog is a collection of projects by students interested in journalistic pieces and video reporting. One notable project was Elsa Clarinda’s reporting on the IT Center at Monas, made available for the blind. The project was a part of her fourth-year task in order to gain a bachelor’s degree.

Sheila Bell and Rara Shamira chose different topics for their shared project at their fourth year. They went to Jakarta Fashion Week 2015 and made a report about the event. They created a vlogging-style report, a part of both modern journalism and internet culture.

Meanwhile, Titie Andelina Wiji created something a little different: a vlog about storytelling with anecdote and personal experiences. The short video was created as a part of the fourth-year project, showing a self-reporting style that is prevalent in modern internet culture.

Looking at these students’ projects can inspire you to make creative projects. Unleash your ideas and creative endeavor when you finally study communications at BINUS International campus!
