Shape?<\/li>\n<li>What technology will you be using?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Don\u2019t be <u>too<\/u> Humor is OK! (depending on the topic.)<\/li>\n<li>Use pictures. Reduce text. Almost everyone likes and remembers pictures.<\/li>\n<li>Make it <u>READABLE!<\/u> Consider 54+ point font size. Think of the people sitting in the back.<\/li>\n<li><u>Limit<\/u> bullet points (5\u00b1 maximum) &amp; slides (20\u00b1 maximum, depending on topic).<\/li>\n<li><u>AVOID<\/u> It\u2019s usually unattractive- photos, art, charts, graphs (<u>if<\/u> clear, see #7) are better.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure all charts &amp; graphs are <u>understandable<\/u> and<u> easily<\/u> readable (see #4.) Labels must be large enough.<\/li>\n<li><u>AVOID<\/u> slow transitions. Don\u2019t waste the audience\u2019s time. This is also true for <em>Keynote<\/em> and<\/li>\n<li>KEEP IT <u><\/u> Go for simple, clearly designed slides.<\/li>\n<li>Edit &amp; <u>PRACTICE<\/u>! Save (in more than one place, for example \u2018the cloud\u2019) Check spelling &amp; grammar, then edit, practice and save again. Repeat!<\/li>\n<li>Look at your audience, NOT the screen, and smile!<\/li>\n<li>Arrive <u>early <\/u>to check. Remember not all computers or projectors are the same.<\/li>\n<li>Dress appropriately.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure all phones are silent.<\/li>\n<li>Notes are OK but DON\u2019T read! A tablet can work well. (See rule #11.)<\/li>\n<li>Think very carefully about your body language. Practice in a mirror or on video.<\/li>\n<li>Just in case, prepare a Plan B. What will you do if the projector bulb burns out, or there is a power cut?<\/li>\n<li>Pacing is important. Find a balance between fast and slow (see rule #1.
