As part of the Language Center Workshop series for 2024, another workshop on Turnitin was held on October 11, 2024, at the JWC Campus, BINUS @Senayan. Titled “Turnitin 101,” this workshop aimed to introduce Turnitin and its features, which are widely regarded as one of the essential tools for upholding academic integrity. It provided lecturers with the necessary information to use Turnitin in their classes.

Michael Setiawan from the Language Center BINUS @Senayan delivered the workshop. He guided lecturers who had never used Turnitin through a step-by-step, hands-on experience. This practical workshop equipped attendees with ideas on how they could implement Turnitin in their classrooms, ensuring a smooth integration into their teaching methodologies.

Additionally, the workshop served as a platform for lecturers to discuss and share their experiences, fostering a collaborative environment where educators could learn from each other. The hands-on sessions were complemented by detailed discussions on best practices for using Turnitin, enhancing the overall understanding and application of the tool.

The use of Turnitin at BINUS @Senayan not only helps students uphold academic integrity by avoiding plagiarism but also ensures that students’ work is appreciated and saved in Turnitin’s database. This prevents others from using their work without proper credit, thus maintaining the originality and credibility of the students’ efforts.
