Empowering Communication: Community Development at TMII
To end 2025, our team embarked on a meaningful community development initiative at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), focusing on enhancing English communication skills for frontline staff. This program was designed to support employees who interact daily with visitors, helping them explain attractions, provide directions, and create a welcoming experience for both local and international guests.
The training sessions combined practical language exercises with interactive role-play activities. Staff practiced common hospitality phrases, learned how to respond to visitor questions, and explored strategies to build confidence in real-life situations. By simulating scenarios such as guiding tourists through cultural pavilions or assisting families at the park entrance, participants gained hands-on experience that directly connects to their daily responsibilities.
Beyond language skills, the program emphasized the importance of intercultural awareness. TMII is a showcase of Indonesia’s diverse heritage, and staff play a vital role in bridging cultures. By strengthening their English communication, they are better equipped to share stories of Indonesia’s traditions, history, and values with a global audience.
This initiative reflects our commitment to community empowerment through education. By investing in practical training, we not only support professional growth but also advance TMII’s mission to celebrate Indonesia’s cultural richness. The smiles, enthusiasm, and dedication of the participants remind us that community development is most impactful when it blends skill-building with cultural pride.
