Celebrating Young Voices: The 2025 National Essay Writing and Public Speaking Competition Final Round
On September 26, 2025, the Language Center, in collaboration with the Creative Digital Communication program, proudly hosted the final round of the 2025 National Essay Writing and Public Speaking Competition at BINUS @Senayan, FX Mall Jakarta.
This national-level event has become a platform for young talents across Indonesia to showcase not only their writing skills but also their ability to communicate ideas with confidence and clarity.
The competition began with 40 essay submissions from students from several cities in Indonesia. Each essay reflected the creativity, critical thinking, and diverse perspectives of Indonesia’s youth.
After a rigorous selection process, 10 students with the best essays were chosen to advance to the final round. Unlike the written stage, this round challenged them to transform their essays into presentations, testing their ability to engage an audience, articulate arguments, and bring their words to life.
The top 10 finalists were (in alphabetical order):
- Azmi Syahidah – SMA Al-Adzkar Boarding School
- Caryn Aurora Syella Adisti – SMAN 1 Salatiga

The atmosphere at BINUS @Senayan was electric. Finalists stood before judges, peers, and educators to deliver presentations that blended intellectual depth with personal passion.
The event was not only a competition but also a celebration of public speaking as a vital skill in today’s interconnected world.
By combining essay writing with public speaking, the competition nurtures well-rounded communicators—students who can think critically, write persuasively, and speak confidently. These are essential skills for academic success, professional growth, and civic engagement.
The 2025 National Essay Writing and Public Speaking Competition reaffirmed BINUS’s commitment to empowering students through language and communication. It also highlighted the importance of giving young people platforms to express themselves, exchange ideas, and inspire change.
As the finalists left the stage, they carried with them more than just the experience of competition—they carried the confidence to be future leaders, storytellers, and changemakers.
The event was a reminder that when young voices are given space, they can shape narratives that matter.
