BINUS Finance International Student Organizes Waste Sorting Workshop in BSD

South Tangerang, Indonesia – May 24, 2024 – A group of international students from BINUS Finance, led by Akhtar (Binusian 2025), took a proactive step towards environmental responsibility by organizing a waste sorting workshop in BSD, South Tangerang. The workshop, held on May 24, 2024, in collaboration with Jaya Danakirti Waste Bank, aimed to educate participants on the importance of proper waste sorting and its positive environmental impact.

The workshop attracted diverse participants, including residents from the local community and students from BINUS University. The engaging session covered various aspects of waste management, including:

  • Different types of waste and their proper categorization (organic, recyclable, non-recyclable)
  • Practical tips for implementing waste sorting at home
  • Benefits of waste sorting for the environment and local communities

“Our goal for this workshop was to empower the community with knowledge on waste sorting. By collaborating with communities, we ensured participants received practical guidance from experts,” said Helda Fachri, the founder of Jaya Danakirti Waste Bank and environment activist.

Jaya Danakirti, waste bank representatives, played a crucial role in the workshop, sharing their expertise and experiences in waste management. Participants actively participated in discussions and demonstrations, gaining valuable insights into waste sorting practices.
