GrabForGood #TerusUsaha Akselerator Batch 2

This week marks the kick-off of one of our program’s community development projects, titled GrabForGood #TerusUsaha Akselerator Batch 2. This project is initiated by Grab and Sahabat UMKM to empower UMKM (micro, small and medium enterprises) in Indonesia. The participating UMKM are grouped into 3 categories:

  1. Finance: cost of goods sold calculation and financial statements preparation
  2. Marketing: social media marketing, STP (segmenting, targeting, positioning) strategy, distribution strategy
  3. Logo & packaging: product logo and packaging consulting

Our program is in charge of the first category. Not only lecturers, in this project we also involve our students in Managerial Accounting class, students who are still in need of social hours, as well as those students who are currently taking community development enrichment track in this semester. For the next 2.5 weeks, our students will help the UMKM with their cost of goods sold determination and financial statements preparation.

We believe that by exposing our students to real-world projects, they can get a rewarding experience as part of their study here in our program. Not only that they have the opportunity to implement the technical knowledge that they learn in class, but also, they can use this project to hone their soft skills. This is an example of teaching and learning activities varieties that we have in our program to prepare our students in becoming future finance professionals.
