Student Exchange Program at SolBridge, South Korea
In our program, students will get a chance to have international experience, one of which is through the student exchange program. One of our students, Natasha Bensawan, shares her exchange experience at SolBridge International School of Business, South Korea.
Choosing SolBridge for my student exchange experience is definitely the best choice I have ever made. What I like about them is that they provide the real “international experience”, where I got to make friends with different people from a total of 63 countries. They also celebrate culture day, where students are able to watch performances and try cuisines of different countries made by the students. The system of South Korea’s education is a little bit different from us, as they also grade students’ attendance, which later will affect the final grade of the courses. It’s not that hard to adapt in SolBridge, as they have the same learning style as BINUS, but we need to do many presentations which is good to improve our presentation skills.
The reason I chose South Korea as my destination for the student exchange program was because I was so eager to know more about that ‘country of ginseng’, to try their ‘authentic’ Korean food right from their kitchen, to explore their popular tourism destinations (especially their historical sites), as well as to know more about their language and culture and experience them myself. What I like about South Korea is that they pay a lot of attention to punctuality and manners, also they provide many pedestrian paths that allow us to walk from place to place safely.
Living abroad for months by myself definitely has taught me on how to be an independent woman who decides everything for herself, deal with stuffs, how to manage time and money wisely, especially in time management between studying and travelling. Thanks to BINUS, I was able to realize my dream of living in South Korea, and also to be able to experience the changing of weather from summer, autumn and winter in 1 semester. Definitely the best experience I won’t forget.
