1st Winner in Deloitte M&A Challenge 2019
Shania Hidajat, Natasya Naharto and Qonita Zahra, our 5th semester students, succeeded in winning Deloitte M&A Challenge 2019 competition on Friday, 22 November 2019. This competition is one of the yearly top competitions held by Deloitte International, a prominent accounting and consulting firm.
These students successfully passed three stages before reaching the final stage and win the competition. The first stage was started with the submission of teaser poster related to a case study company in cosmetics industry. They had to develop pro-forma financial reports, market trend forecast and competition map in cosmetics industry. There were more than 100 participants from various reputable universities in Indonesia who took part in this stage.
At the second stage, our students were selected among other 9 participants from other universities. They were asked to come to Deloitte’s Jakarta office, where they received coaching about due diligence process as well as merger and acquisition from Deloitte’s senior consultant team. At the end of the day, they were given a case study about a company who wishes to perform merger and acquisition. Next, at the third stage, the 10 finalists delivered a 30-minute presentation to share their perspectives and recommendations pertaining to the assigned case. Through a tight competition, our students managed to outperform competitors from Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Prasetya Mulya and IPMI to earn the first position and Rp 18 million prize money.
