Innovative Financing Workshop to High School Students

On 2-4 September 2019, our program visited several high schools in Pontianak city, i.e. SMA Bina Mulia, SMA Tunas Bangsa, SMA Immanuel and SMK Immanuel and conducted a workshop on the topic of innovative financing. The workshop was led by one of the program’s faculty member who specializes in finance and economics, Dr. Mohamad Ikhsan Modjo.

Dr. Ikhsan conducted the workshop in a very interactive and fun way, hence the students were very participative and enthusiastic during the session. The topic of innovative financing itself is an emerging issue in this technology or digital era. With the changing business models and the emergence of financial technologies in almost everywhere, this workshop aimed to stimulate students to think of innovative and outside-of-the-box ways to finance their hypothetical business.

The workshop was part of the program’s campaign to promote its new program: Finance (International Program) under the Faculty of Economics and Communication. With the tagline of ‘’Invent Financial Solutions”, this program aims to provide students with skills and knowledge in innovative finance strategies for business creation and invent financial solutions with data analytics. Students in this program are equipped with both accounting and finance competencies, the two major competencies most sought after by employers.
