A showcase for this is through fashion collections and fashion shows.<\/p>\n<p>This year BNSD together with Harper\u2019s Bazaar Indonesia promoted the richness of South Sumatra through \u2018BNSD X Harper\u2019s Bazaar: The Passage of Srivijaya\u2019 virtual fashion show. The theme \u2018The Passage of Srivijaya\u2019 was inspired by South Sumatra\u2019s traditional cultures, natural richness, and historical values. Furthermore, this show also told the story of the kingdom of Srivijaya, an empire based on the island of Sumatra which influenced much of Southeast Asia and was an important center for the expansion of Buddhism from the 8th to the 12th century AD.<\/p>\n<p>Styled by Michael Pondaag (Fashion Director at Harper\u2019s Bazaar Indonesia), \u2018The Passage of Srivijaya\u2019 featured ten men\u2019s and women\u2019s ready-to-wear collections by 17 young designers (12 students and 5 alumnae) from BINUS Northumbria School of Design.<\/p>\n<p>Those ten collections were:<br \/>\n&#8211; APOENG by Michelle Angelica and Nabila Sudiro.<br \/>\n&#8211; SANJO BIRO by Vincentia Winnie and Tasya Aravinda.<br \/>\n&#8211; SAKATA by Elizabeth Aidy and Maria Viyona.<br \/>\n&#8211; KALIS by Gabriella Angelique and Ester Utami.<br \/>\n&#8211; HANYUTAN by Cynthia Halim and Nabila Kaulika.<br \/>\n&#8211; MEMBARA by Nadya Sari and Gabriella Olivia.<br \/>\n&#8211; CONFLATE by Katharina Rossa and Nadira Aridiyanti.<br \/>\n&#8211; HYPEN by Clara Pranata.<br \/>\n&#8211; NUMEN by Audrey Jane.<br \/>\n&#8211; TAKU by Diya Gityandramarsha.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BNSD X Harper\u2019s Bazaar - Cultural Project: The Passage of Srivijaya\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GvwwYKoZ1hI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BINUS Northumbria School of Design (BNSD) is committed to supporting local values and heritage, and promoting Indonesia\u2019s natural resources and diversity.
