On September 14, 2024, BINUS International hosted the first-ever SheCodes workshop, focusing on Data Visualization. This landmark event brought together enthusiastic students from various universities, fostering a dynamic learning environment that highlighted the importance of data in today\u2019s digital world.<\/p>\n

The workshop kicked off with an insightful session by Nunung Nurul Qomariyah, Ph.D, who led a deep dive into the fundamentals and advanced techniques of Data Visualization. Her engaging presentation highlighted how visualizing data can uncover patterns, trends, and insights that would otherwise remain hidden. Participants learned the value of transforming raw data into meaningful visuals that aid decision-making in various industries, from business to healthcare.<\/p>\n

The learning experience continued with an interactive hands-on session led by Stephanie Staniswinata, where students had the opportunity to apply the skills they learned in real-time. This practical session allowed participants to work directly with data sets, create compelling visualizations, and receive guidance on best practices for storytelling through data. Stephanie\u2019s approach emphasized collaboration and creativity, encouraging participants to think critically about how to present data effectively.<\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by 16 students\u201412 females and 4 males\u2014from various universities, not just BINUS International. This diverse group of participants added to the richness of the event, creating a vibrant atmosphere of shared learning and collaboration. The inclusion of students from different institutions demonstrated SheCodes\u2019 commitment to empowering a broader community, breaking down barriers, and promoting inclusivity in the tech industry.<\/p>\n

A big shout-out goes to all the amazing participants who made this inaugural workshop such a success! This is just the beginning for SheCodes at BINUS International, with many more exciting workshops on the way.
