Here\u2019s why\u2026 By DIAN SARWONO<\/p>\n<p>Being a good leader, coach, teacher, or counsellor is not an easy job. Not just become a role model, but a leader should help their people to grow. According to John C. Maxwell, PhD, author of <em>Falling \u00a0Forward<\/em> and <em>The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership<\/em>,\u201d A good leader or coach should add value to their employee or player\u2019s live, individually or collectively. Their focus are not only for winning or reaching target.\u201d They have to help their employee or players to become what they want to be &#8211; from throwing a ball, fixing a computer, selling product, becoming a writer, becoming an influencer, or understand the business they have.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How does \u00a0a good leader, mentor, coach, or teacher do it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A good leader has the ability to\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>See talent in someone\u2019s live<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>They can see potential in their employee and willing to spend time to help them grow. A lot of leader only see their employee as employee, \u00a0and cannot see the what their employee could reach. As a result, the employee lost opportunities to improve their career.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Help to find the talent<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Your job as a leader is to give an opportunity for the employee to find a talent that they don\u2019t know they have. You could give them tasks that involve their skill or talent. When they could perform the tasks well, show them the specific factors that could help them succeed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Help them develop their talent<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Before he is a successful writer, Maxwell has a mentor named Les Stovey. \u201cHe could see that I have a big dream to become a writer, but also could see that I have the skills to develop myself. \u201cHe also helped me to see what can I do to grow-he showed me how to write more effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You could star adding value in people\u2019s lives with <strong><em>your head, your heart, and your hand&#8230;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A leader\u2019s head &#8211; understand others<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An important quality that a leader need to have is to understand people\u2019s feelings and thoughts. For example, a lot of your employee have difficulties when they have to speak in front of an audience. \u201cWhen I know that almost 90% of people who communicate with me are struggling to become confident, I use that opportunity to inspire them, to move forward and to take risk. I start to make sure that the words I say help them to develop themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>A leader\u2019s heart &#8211; loving others<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t become a good leader or role model unless you love others. This is not about emotional love, but \u00a0genuinely caring and paying attention to others.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A leader\u2019s hand &#8211; helping others<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of your responsibilities as a leader is to help others. When you don\u2019t understand others, you can\u2019t help them.
