Books may look like a simple everyday commodity that are accessible in our daily lives. However, we should not underestimate the benefits that books can bring to a person. Books can widen knowledge and also serve as a source of inspiration. Unfortunately, there are still a lot of people who are not as fortunate as we are, not being able to access books to read. There is still lack of access to books in rural areas in Indonesia, especially in schools. Through “Hooked-on-a-Book”, we are inviting Binusians to donate books and other school supplies to schools and orphanage in rural areas, so they can also have access to educational books just like us. Through this pilot project, we hope this project can grow into a larger social movement in promoting the value of sharing a book and its benefits towards all layers of society.
