Ekky Imanjaya has published many popular and scholarly articles as well as presented papers at international conferences. Prior to the academic career, he was already a well-known film reviewer, book author and journalist. He is also co-founder and editor of Rumah Film, www.rumahfilm.org, a group of film critics managing a website consisting writings of films as well as organizing various events related to cinema. As a filmmaker, he won a best documentary award from a film festival in Bangkok, Thailand for his film, Macet (Traffic Jam).
