Rain: The best sound and smell

Everybody who lives in Indonesia knows that we only have two weathers; whether it is dry or wet. Most of the time it is just dry or for most, windy. But when it rains, it just feels so special to me. The smell of rain is very different from just any water. You cannot really smell normal water and there is nothing special to it. But when it comes to rain, there is a feeling of clear and pure water. It smells like the color blue. It reminds me of the word aqua. That was a pretty unique way to explain its smell. Not only does it smell good, it sounds good too. The sound of the raindrops hitting the surface relaxes my mind. It sounds like hearing a percussion instrument hitting the rhythm perfectly.

A lot of people stay indoors when it is raining. But the true joy does not come when you stay indoors. I really love it when I am in the car or when I walk down the street and it rains lightly. When I stay in a car and turn on the radio, I can look out and see the raindrops touching the windows of my car. It is the little details that are fun to watch. I see these little raindrops fall onto each other and gather into a bigger raindrop. When the raindrop is too big, it is too heavy and it just falls down. It is so satisfying to watch that. When I am just out of the train station, walking down the street, I take out my umbrella and plug my earphones. I walk through little puddles of rain and enjoy the gray sky. It is so beautiful to watch and the temperature would be so breezy it makes me happy.

Rains that are close to thunderstorms are never good when you are outside. The best type of rain is a moderate rain where it is not too light, there is no strong wind, and there are no lightning/thunders.

The reason I love rain so much is because of the mood or vibe it gives. It can really help me calm down and relax. It makes me appreciate the things around me more. On some days, I might be more productive when it rains. A lot of people associate the rain with being sad, and I cannot deny this. Although it is true, it does not affect me negatively. I am the type of person that bottles up my feelings and decides to never let it out. But when it rains and I decide to listen to a sad song, I could finally let my feelings out and cry. It is so satisfying that a person who is so closed like me can finally let all the bad things out. When I have nobody to talk to, crying it all out is what I got and it really helps me. It might sound really sad, but it is actually really good for me mentally.

I appreciate the rain and I do not get mad over it (unless I forgot my umbrella). It is my favorite sound and smell in the world. It is the best feeling in the world and I am thankful for it.
