INTERNATIONAL ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL PROGRAM’S KNOWLEDGE SHARING: ‘THE MACROECONOMIC AND BANK-SPECIFIC DETERMINANTS OF NON-PERFORMING LOANS IN INDONESIA’

On April 29, the International Accounting and Financial Program held its second knowledge sharing session for the year.  This session was led by James Bartle Ph.D. on the topic, ‘The Macroeconomic and Bank-specific Determinants of Non-performing Loans in Indonesia’. Mr Bartle highlighted that little research had been done in this area in Indonesia.  He then went through the various determinants that had been discovered through research in other countries and highlighted which ones he would address.  The presentation prompted much discussion on the modeling, suggestions regarding variables and for a later time, alternative research questions.
