Welcoming New Students, Student Committee ‘W’ DAYS 2014 Briefing

On August 29, from 08.00 to 14.00, a briefing for 350 new students of BINUS International was held at the JWC campus. The event was to welcome new students who will graduate in 2018.  Welcoming days includes many events between August 29 and September 16.

The students were grouped according to their majors. They watched a video and were taught the rules of participating in ‘Welcoming Days’ or ‘W’ DAYS, as they are known to the Student Committee.

The Student Committee explained their organizational structure, function, and available divisions.

In the last session, every group was required to plan, propose and execute a Community Service Project with ‘Jakarta 2018’ as its theme.

Each group had from August 29to 31 to prepare the project, while the execution would take place between September1and 8.  Every group had to make a report about the execution of their social project.

On September 9 and 10, the new students were given an introduction to BI and the specific majorsbefore playing games prepared by the organizers. On the second day the students had the chance to gain information about their majors from lecturers and heads of programs. On September 16, the event finished with a visit to Lido Recreation Centre in Sukabumi. (RAW)
