BINUS CENTER Seminar: Interactive Trends with Big English, Provides Solution for Education Based on English

Globalization triggers changes in many different areas and education is no exception. Globalization also moves really fast, with technology as its driving force. Therefore, the role of technology in the development of education is inevitable.

English, as an important instrument in globalization also plays an important role in global education. Effective English teaching without diminishing the quality of the lesson – while still making it appealing to the students – is not an easy thing to do. BINUS CENTER, therefore, as a quality training institution held a seminar on education with the title ‘Interactive Trends in Big English’ on May 10.

BINUS Center has hosted seminars on education since it was established in 1991. It even has its own department that focuses on training trainers for Indonesian schools as BINUS CENTER Education Partners. These trainings usually emphasize the development of extracurricular IT courses.

In this seminar, BINUS Center collaborated with Pearson and Chandra Naya Laksana. Its purpose is to introduce their joint collaboration program regarding the English teaching and learning process that is based on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).

The seminar was held at the Joseph Wibowo Center, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mario Herrera, an American author of Big English and expert on education, gave a very interactive and humorous presentation. (RAW)
